Tobias Latham FCG

Director of Corporate Services

Tobias is Director of Company Secretarial Services at Elemental. He works directly with clients on company secretarial, corporate governance and regulatory law, often bringing a specialist knowledge of Financial Regulation.

Tobias is dual-qualified, as both a Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute and as a solicitor, having trained and qualified at Linklaters in London. He later worked for leading law firm Macfarlanes in their Investment Fund and Financial Services group advising FTSE 100 companies on regulatory law. He also has experience working in-house with time spent in the Government Legal Service advising Ministers and Secretaries of State.

Tobias spent over five years teaching future solicitors the practical application of company and governance law at BPP Law School. Initially, exclusively for Magic Circle firms and over time as overall Head of the Legal Practice Course

At Elemental, Tobias works with a range of UK and international public and private companies and has developed a specialism in the energy sector. Current clients range from Four Seasons Hotel Group to firms in the renewable energy investment sector, such as Low Carbon.

He holds a Masters in Banking & Finance Law from Queen Mary University of London and has achieved fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. Tobias has continued his connection to education as Chair of the Board of Governors of an inner-city state funded primary school.

• Low Carbon: Tobias is the relationship manager for Low Carbon, a privately-owned UK investment and asset management company founded in 2011. It is committed to making a positive and significant impact on climate change by investing in large-scale renewable energy projects. The Low Carbon investment model has enabled the deployment of more than £500 million in capital into renewable infrastructure with more than 700MW already developed. Low Carbon’s investments are generating sufficient clean energy to power more than 106,000 homes, saving in excess of 143,000 tonnes of CO2 each year.
• Greencoat Capital: Tobias supports Greencoat, a specialist asset manager dedicated to the resource efficiency and renewable energy sectors. It has offices in London and Dublin and approximately £5.5bn under management, making it one of the largest such fund managers in Europe. It was founded in 2009 and currently has fund mandates with segregated strategies in wind infrastructure, solar infrastructure and private equity.
• Prax Group: The Prax Group is a leading independent trading, storage, distribution and retail multinational dealing in crude oil, petroleum products and biofuels. Tobias provides advice and company secretarial service to the group.
