August 24, 2012 Consultation on New Governance Standard
The BSI Group (British Standards Institution) currently have a new draft code of practice open for consultation relating to delivering effective governance (BS13500).
This British Standard is intended to give recommendations and guidance for the effective delivery of governance. It is meant to be applicable to all organisations and is intended to promote a framework for effective governance that encompasses system, control, direction and accountability.
‘BSI is calling for input into a new draft standard for governance. The new standard, which has been developed by a committee of industry experts, aims to help organisations adopt and demonstrate best practice governance activities to enhance their reputation and gain competitive advantage,’ said Sara Walton, a Committee Manager at BSI.
